Discovery Mermaid
Introduces simple mermaid activities in confined water
Required Min 6 years old
No need to have experience in snorkeling, skin diving, etc.
Basic Mermaid
Combines learning supporting knowledge and principles with a confined water skill development session to introduce the fun of fundamental mermaid diving.
Min 6 years old
Able to swim atleast 25m/80ft without swim aids
Able to float comfortably at the surface for at least 3 mins
Mermaid
Includes knowledge development and at least two water skill sessions that develop more dynamic mermaid skills beyond Basic Mermaid.
Min 10 years old
Able to swim atleast 50m/160ft without swim aids
Able to float comfortably at the surface for at least 5 mins
Advance Mermaid
Learn the basics of how the open water environment differs from a pool or confined water (larger, deeper, more variable conditions) and be introduced to open water mermaiding techniques.
Min 12 years old
Able to swim atleast 100m/320ft without swim aids
Able to float comfortably at the surface for at least 10 mins

Basic Mermaid Instructor
The basic PADI Mermaid Instructor is qualified to teach only in swimming pools or confined water environments, not in open bodies of water. The PADI Mermaid Instructor training serves two purposes: to develop effective teaching skills and to refine personal mermaid performance skills. This program called “From Zero To Hero”

Completed EFR Primary and Secondary care training
Current medical statement signed by a physician
